Margaret and Roumania Peters Residence
Nationally recognized tennis pros, the Peters sister won 14 American Tennis Association championship titles in 1940-1950s. Roumania was one of only two women to beat world-renowned Althea Gibson at Wilberforce in 1946. Margaret Peters played the famous actor Gene Kelly in 1944 while he was stationed in the area during World War II.
She later went on to teach tennis in the DC Public Schools.
